JOURNEY WITH HENRY SHEN
ABOUT
I am a graduate from Purdue University major in Sound for the Performing Arts. I've took parts in several productions in school for the past two and a half years in Purdue. I mainly worked as a sound designer, production sound engineer, and composer for the shows. I also worked as a studio TA at school to help students complete school works and personal projects. Aside from school, I am interested in making hip hop beats and helping my friends record/mix their songs at the school studio.
MEN ON BOATS
Assistant Sound Designer
For Purdue University's Spring 2022 Theatre production, Men on Boats, directed by William Woodall Lewis, I worked with sound designer Huhao Yang. I composed four songs for the character, Old Shady to sing in the show, and I also composed all the transition music for the show,
Everybody
Assistant Production Sound Engineer
I worked as assistant production sound engineer for Purdue University's 2022 theater production, Everybody. For this show, my job is to set up the theater sound system and take parts in designing the system. I was in charge of leading load-in, sound calibration, sound level setting, and strike.
PCDC SPRING WORKS 2022
Lead Sound Designer
For Purdue Contemporary Dance Company's Spring works showing 2022, I worked with choreographer Renee Murray and sound designer Kenny Bartkiewicz to compose music for her episodic dance piece, Small Plates to Share. I composed five out of nine pieces in this dance show. I am also in charge of the sound system design for the show and host sound meetings for DANC 368 course.
